How the verdict works
The calculator adds up each side, then compares the gap to the bigger side. A $90 card for a $100 card is a 10% gap.
- Fair trade Both sides are within 10% of each other.
- Good / Great for you You receive 10–25% (good) or over 25% (great) more than you give.
- Slightly uneven / Not a good trade You give 10–25% or over 25% more than you receive.
Market value is a guide, not a promise: condition, grading, and what your trade partner actually wants all matter. Use your own judgment before you trade.
How do I know if a Pokémon card trade is fair?
Add up the market value of the cards on each side and compare the gap to the bigger side. Within 10% is a fair trade. Between 10% and 25% leans one way, and over 25% is clearly uneven. This calculator does that math for you with current TCGplayer market prices.
Where do the prices come from?
Prices are TCGplayer market prices for near-mint, ungraded English cards, refreshed every day (last updated October 14, 2026). Graded cards, damaged cards and Japanese cards trade at different prices.
Is the trade calculator free?
Yes. The web calculator is free with no account. The Hyper Rare iPhone app adds card scanning, so you can add cards with your camera instead of searching, plus price history and collection tracking.
